Objectives:

Our client is looking for a project manager supporting the EDI migration project from on premise to public cloud, managed by a vendor. The role will be reporting to the leading Project Manager of the EDI migration project.

 

The Project Manager is supposed to work full time till Oct 2021 starting asap. to fully support the 2nd part of the project. The Project Manager role supports the leading Project Manager in all aspects of the project over the entire life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close).

 

Due to the size of the project it has been split into waves. The duties include to take over full responsibility for waves inside of the project, scheduling the different phases, supporting test and cutover schedule and monitoring. The Project Manager must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the project team. The Project Manager needs to be comfortable managing scope and resources of the project during the project lifecycle in close collaboration with the vendor and the leading Project Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects according to the IT PMO methodology.
  • Direct and manage project planning, execution, control and closure phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Develop work plans, schedule resources and track project progress using appropriate tools.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and to identify and maintain critical path.
  • Execute tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and update project deliverables as needed.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Define project success criteria, monitor and communicate status though duration of project.
  • Effectively manage project expectations of team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Manage scope change requests providing assessments to time, cost and scope.
  • Ensure timely approval of all key decisions affecting time, cost or scope by appropriate project authority during project lifecycle.
  • Schedule and conduct project team, steering and other meetings and distribute notes as necessary.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Manage and address all risks and issues during project lifecycle.
  • Ensure on-boarding is conducted for new project team members.
  • Establish, agree and follow up a test process with the vendor and internal team members in order to sign off the results.
  • Ensure user acceptance testing processes are managed and completed as required.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Maintain expertise in project management best practices.

 

Competences Needed:

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • An undergraduate degree is required; graduate engineer (Applied Science) is an advantage.
  • PMI or Prince 2 Certification is valuable, but not required.
  • 5 years of IT experience with 8+ years project management experience, preferably for a progressive IT organization within a manufacturing business or with the company.
  • Experience from managing agile projects and preferable holder of a Scrum Master title or similar.
  • Experience leading at least 1 enterprise level project.
  • Strong interest in managing project in the digital portfolio.
  • Management of medium to larger IT projects: budgets from $250,000 to $5,000,000+ and project teams averaging up to 40 resources and more.
  • Experience leading or participating in a variety of technical and business driven projects.
  • Experience within Service Now PPM module or similar project/portfolio management tool
  • Experience creating and maintaining project budgets.
  • Project management skills and experience or training including the utilization of project management best practice life cycle methodologies and documentation processes. This should include experience with standard tools and processes for:
  • Originating
  • Planning
  • Executing
  • Controlling
  • Closure
  • Previous experience with EDI and migration to cloud projects is an advantage.
  • Experience leading IT Infrastructure projects with business touchpoints.
  • JIRA experience.
  • XIB and SCBN experience is an advantage.
